The covid crisis accelerated the use of online training across the globe. In many sectors it had a lasting effect, and road transport is one of them. The world of driver training is on a path towards a new era of vocational education. Policy makers are increasingly open to the idea of online courses, training instructors are keen to embrace new technology to deliver flexible solutions and drivers are desperate for something different. But it doesn’t stop with eLearning. The virtual classroom, along with gamification, will drive these changes and provide new opportunities for learning.

Moderator Bio: James Tillyer is the Managing Consultant at Transformotion IRL, a road transport consultancy and training development agency based in Cork, Ireland. Experienced in driver development going back over 20 years, James has worked on numerous EU projects for driver education and continues to create solutions that engage and inform truck and bus drivers. He's worked on the development of the EU ESCO classification system and continues to work on the harmonisation of training practices for European and third country drivers. James will be your roundtable moderator.
